Behavior Intervention Specialist - Ventura County

About the role

Position pays $28.25/hr! As a Behavior Interventionist here at Devereux, you will collaborate with others who share your passion to help adults in need in the Ventura County area. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with others to help adults in need in the Ventura County area.
• Implement behavior plans of each individual and respond with appropriate proactive and reactive strategies to reduce problem behaviors and support with conducting assessments and D-PBIS.
• Provide direction, training and mentorship to family members and staff of individuals served relative to behavioral strategies and implementation of individual behavior programs.
• Work under the direction of a BCBA and receive ongoing training and supervision.
• Work varying hours based on client needs, typically Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Possesses a Bachelors degree of Arts or Science Degree in a related field: Psychology, social work, human services, education, and has: Twelve (12) semester units in applied behavior analysis and one year of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services; or Two (2) years of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services.

Schedule

• Typical work days will be Monday-Friday, but weekend availability may be needed on rare occasions.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to take and pass Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) training, including initial training during orientation and subsequent re-certifications.
• Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping, bending and standing are required.
• Frequent use of computers and office equipment.
• Frequent outside activities with exposure to sunlight and potentially inclement (severe, rough, harsh or stormy weather).
