About the Role

Devereux is seeking a Behavior Interventionist to join our team in the Ventura County area. This role offers a positive work/life balance within a stable national non-profit organization. Initial training will be conducted in Goleta, and the initial workload may be within the Santa Barbara area.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with clients with behavioral challenges under the supervision of a BCBA.
  • Provide staff training to support generalization throughout the day.
  • Reduce problem behaviors while teaching functionally equivalent replacement behaviors.
  • Implement behavior plans for each individual, responding with appropriate proactive and reactive strategies.
  • Support conducting assessments and D-PBIS.
  • Provide direction, training, and mentorship to family members and staff regarding behavioral strategies and implementation of individual behavior programs.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Pass a thorough background check and livescan fingerprint.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Psychology, social work, human services, education) and one of the following:
    • Twelve (12) semester units in applied behavior analysis and one year of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services; or
    • Two (2) years of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services.

Skills & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to take and pass Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) training, including initial training during orientation and subsequent re-certifications.
  • Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and standing are required.
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment.
  • Frequent outside activities with exposure to sunlight and potentially inclement weather.
  • Must receive an annual TB test showing evidence of being free from infectious pulmonary tuberculosis, starting from hire and every 12 months thereafter.

Pay

$28.25 per hour

Schedule

  • Typically Monday–Friday (some weekends may be required based on client needs).
  • Flexible scheduling between 9am–8:30pm.
  • Hours vary based on client needs; schedules may range between 9am–6:30pm and 12pm–8:30pm.
  • Candidate availability is open for discussion.
  • Part-Time or Full-Time work available.
