Behavior Intervention Specialist - Carver Elementary

About the role

The Behavior Intervention Specialist will be responsible for supporting students in a school setting, focusing on positive behavior reinforcement, conflict resolution, and developing behavior plans.

Responsibilities

• Check on and encourage positive behavior for students; build relationships with students
• Attend Problem Solving meetings
• Mediation with students
• Conflict Resolution
• Develop and monitor behavior plans
• Give consequences for behaviors as described in behavior plan
• Be available and responsive to staff members requests for interventions
• Develop/create structured recess games

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience in working with students in a school setting
• Experience in conflict resolution strategies and a variety of discipline strategies
• Experience working with parents and children in difficult and sensitive situations
• Able to demonstrate outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to present to small groups and large groups of students, parents, and staff
• Able to keep information about students and families confidential

Qualifications

• Responsive Classroom trained
• Experience in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
• Experience working in a diverse community
• Experience working in a school setting
• CPI trained
• Bully Prevention trained

Schedule

• 8 hours/day and 190 days per school year
