About the Role

We're seeking a licensed therapist to join our recently implemented behavioral health team at the Cibola Family Health Center. You will provide therapy services for patients, their families, and support systems related to their mental health care needs. This includes advising family caregivers, providing patient education and counseling, and making referrals for other services. You may also provide care and case management or interventions designed to promote health, prevent disease, and address barriers to healthcare access.

Cibola General Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Grants, NM—one hour from Albuquerque and close to Santa Fe. Known for its mild year-round climate and outdoor activities, Grants offers low property taxes and affordable housing. Our hospital provides services in general surgery, 24-hour emergency care, intensive care, internal medicine, obstetrics, pathology, pediatric dentistry, podiatry, primary care, radiology (X-ray, CT, MRI), three operating rooms (including a scope room), clinics, lab services, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, and rehab.

Responsibilities

  • Perform biopsychosocial assessments and provide counseling services.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to assess client needs or treatment plans.
  • Advocate for clients or patients to resolve crises.
  • Intervene in crisis situations to assist clients.
  • Refer patients, clients, or families to community resources to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness and provide access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement, or education.
  • Refer clients to community or social service programs.

Requirements

  • Licensure in the state of New Mexico is required, including a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling.
  • State registration is required.
  • Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in Social Work, Case Management, or Counseling.
  • Hospital experience preferred but not required.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, reference checks, and a post-offer drug screen.
  • Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).
  • Annual tuberculin screening required.
  • Hospital-required vaccinations.
  • Hospital-required competencies.
  • Must be able to meet the physical conditions of the position.

Qualifications

One of the following licensures is required:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
