On-siteOTHR$60k–$70k/yrFull-time

About the role

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a growing, dynamic organization with a social mission to offer hope, is seeking a Behavior Coordinator to join our award-winning Special Education team and perform meaningful work in a culture that welcomes innovation, encourages creative expression and offers limitless potential for personal and professional satisfaction! If you thrive in a fast-paced, student-centered, outcomes-driven environment, feel energized by coaching teams and strengthening program quality, and bring a solutions-first mindset, a sense of humor, and a rock-solid work ethic — We Should Talk!

As a Behavior Coordinator, you will serve as a key driver of high-quality, compliant, and student-centered programming by strengthening staff practice and elevating instructional and behavioral outcomes. You will train, coach, and mentor teams in Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), evidence-based teaching strategies aligned to IEP goals, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) practices. You’ll also research and recommend evidence-based curricula and systems—ensuring the program meets Department of Education requirements and ChanceLight standards with a continuous-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive training, guidance, and ongoing support to program staff in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Maintaining high-quality standards for academic instruction and behavioral intervention services delivered to all students.
  • Coaching staff on evidence-based instructional practices aligned to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, strengthening implementation fidelity and accelerating student progress.
  • Assessing program-wide professional development needs and designing, building, and delivering training supports that close performance gaps and elevate outcomes.
  • Strengthening staff capability through continuous learning by participating in—and promoting participation in—conferences, workshops, seminars, and training sessions that expand core competencies.
  • Leading the training, certification, and ongoing coaching of staff in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) strategies, reinforcing safe, consistent, and effective application.
  • Partnering with the Program Director to support hiring, onboarding, orientation, and initial training processes for behavioral program staff.
  • Researching evidence-based curricula and recommending adoption aligned with Department of Education requirements and program priorities.
  • Optimizing student, classroom, and program-wide support systems by continuously evaluating needs, refining processes, and implementing improvements.
  • Participating proactively in required meetings, including student progress reviews, parent-teacher conferences, staff development sessions, and other relevant forums as needed.
  • Conducting routine quality assurance reviews at the student, staff, classroom, and site levels, documenting results and recommending actionable improvements to increase program effectiveness.
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with Department of Education regulations and ChanceLight operational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Supporting additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by program leadership.
