About the role
Make a meaningful difference in a child’s day. As a Clinical Assistant, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting children through therapeutic play, recreation, and structured learning experiences designed to promote growth and adaptive functioning. Working closely with a dedicated classroom team, you’ll help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children can build skills and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Support the classroom team in implementing each child’s individualized treatment plan using structured interventions.
- Integrate treatment goals into group and individual program activities.
- Aid in behavioral, emotional, and social assessments and contribute to treatment planning.
- Provide educational and therapeutic activities that promote adaptive functioning.
- Supervise children closely to ensure a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
- Use approved non-violent crisis intervention strategies; apply physical intervention only as a last resort and under supervision.
- Document clinical information, data, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate behavioral concerns and updates to the clinical team and families as appropriate.
- Provide safe transportation for children, including driving a minibus and supervising patients during transport.
- Maintain vehicle safety, documentation, supplies, and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree - Required
- At least one (1) year children who have special health care or behavioral needs - Preferred
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to operate a company vehicle and/or be insured on a CHOP policy.
- Knowledge of child development, demonstrated skills working with children in groups, and knowledge of behavioral principles.
- Familiar with and comfortable using computers.
Licenses and Certifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Department of Motor Vehicles - within 6 months - Required and
- CDL with Passenger Endorsement - Department of Motor Vehicles - within 6 months - Required and
- Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention - Crisis Prevention Institute - within 3 months - Required
Pay
SALARY RANGE: $21.05 - $26.35 Hourly
