Responsibilities
- Manage the Before and After School program including administration, operations, human and financial resources.
- Promote a safe and nurturing environment for students through collaboration with families, students, faculty, and staff.
- Invoice each family each week or as needed.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements of all payments for families as needed.
- Collect payments, turn in checks, and submit statements to the administration building or school office.
- Record payments and provide receipts as needed.
- Remind parents of late charges and collect them.
- Maintain accurate annual budgets.
- Follow Parent Handbook Administration.
- Supervise, direct, and provide input for evaluation of staff.
- Purchase all food, equipment, and needed supplies using established purchase order accounts at area stores.
- Keep accurate attendance records; maintain a system to record pick-ups of children.
- Know and track who has authority to pick up each child.
- Bill DCFS for family co-payments (YWCA).
- Attend directors' meetings.
- Encourage following of all school rules and policies.
- Meet with principal as needed.
- Have excellent working knowledge of Excel.
- Know and be prepared for safety procedures during weather emergencies, intruders (lockdown, evacuation), and follow safety plans.
- Account for all children during all sessions.
- Administer basic first-aid when necessary.
- Provide a breakfast, snack, and drinks daily.
- Provide alternatives for children with food allergies.
- Maintain a quiet homework area.
- Work with all children and their special needs, parental special requests, and help with conflict resolution as necessary.
- Plan and implement trips or special activities (for full day activities during teacher in-service institutes).
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of Excel and other relevant software.
- Experience managing and supervising staff.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and follow safety protocols.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
- Knowledge of child development and psychology.
- Ability to plan and implement activities for children.
