Join The Community House as a Before & After School Mentor and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners. You'll lead the planning and execution of engaging activities for our Before and After the Bell program, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all participants. Your role will be pivotal in supervising and supporting program counselors, while collaborating closely with the Recreation Supervisor to craft enriching experiences that help children grow and thrive. Compensation: $16.50 - $17.75 hourly Qualifications Experience in leading and supervising educational or recreational programs for childrenAbility to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for participantsProven track record of effectively communicating with children, parents, and staffStrong organizational skills to manage day-to-day program activities and staff meetingsAbility to identify and address safety concerns promptly and effectivelyExperience in administering medication and completing necessary documentation accuratelyAbility to foster a positive working relationship with school staff and program counselors Responsibilities Site Mentors will:Comply with agency policies and proceduresMaintain a safe environment for participantsAssume a lead role in the implementation of day-to-day program activitiesLead Program Counselors in the implementation of program activitiesSupervise participants and enforce program rulesMaintain an open line of communication with Recreation Supervisor and Program CounselorsAppropriately communicate with participants and parentsIdentify safety concerns to Recreation CoordinatorSupervise School Out Trips to off-site locationsDirectly supervise and lead the day-to-day activities of the programResponsible for dispensing medication to students and filling out the correct medical dispense formLeads staff in monthly meetingsProvides a good working relationship with school staff
