About the role

The After School Program Mentor’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. This is a non-exempt, part-time position that averages 17-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Foster youth development through enrichment activities
  • Lead elementary students in various educational and recreational pursuits
  • Ensure safety and supervision of students during program hours
  • Engage with students to build positive relationships and support their growth
  • Collaborate with other team members to plan and implement engaging activities

Requirements

  • At least 17 years of age
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, with some post-secondary training highly preferred
  • A passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
  • Able to work Monday - Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
  • Able to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
  • Pass a Mandatory Background/Sex offender check
  • Valid driver’s license or valid ID
  • Dependable transportation
  • Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued

The pay for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The After School Program Mentor works Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
