About the role

We are seeking ministry-minded individuals to join our After School team. The After School Program Mentor’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after-school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. As a Christian ministry, we aim to serve kids and students in our community by offering awesome after-school care and activities. Mentoring Alliance exists to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, providing tangible help and eternal hope.

An After School Program Mentor is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17-20 hours per week. We hire teachers, youth workers, teen workers, college students, mentors, and more to serve and develop kids in our programs. Each staff position is integral to our mission and vision, and we consider this role first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel.

Responsibilities

Foster youth development in an after-school setting.
Lead elementary students in enrichment activities.
Serve as a role model and have an eternal impact on kids in the community.
Exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.

Requirements

Must be at least 17 years of age.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred; some post-secondary training highly preferred.
Passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children.
Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred.
Able to work Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory).
Pass a mandatory background/sex offender check.
Valid driver’s license or valid ID.
Legally allowed to work in the United States.
Dependable transportation.

Skills

Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued.
