About the role

We are seeking ministry-minded individuals to join our After School team. The After School Program Mentor’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after-school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. As a Christian ministry, we aim to serve kids and students in our community by offering awesome after-school care and activities. Mentoring Alliance exists to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope.

An After School Program Mentor is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17-20 hours per week. We consider this role first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel, with the opportunity to have an eternal impact and be a role model to kids in your community.

Responsibilities

  • Foster youth development in an after-school setting
  • Lead elementary students in enrichment activities
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor to children
  • Support the mission and vision of Mentoring Alliance

Requirements

  • Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
  • Must be at least 17 years of age
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred; some post-secondary training highly preferred
  • Passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
  • Able to work Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
  • Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
  • Pass mandatory background/sex offender check
  • Valid driver’s license or valid ID
  • Legally allowed to work in the United States
  • Dependable transportation

Skills

  • Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued

Schedule

Part-time, 17-20 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
