Bed Control Coordinator I

Responsibilities

• Provides care coordination for patients as they move into and through the care continuum.
• Ensures accurate, timely processing of insurance verifications, patient registration, and timely notification of payors to ensure maximum reimbursement.
• Facilitates benefit coverage for continuum of care needs.
• Ensures the flow of information to continuum care providers.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications:
• Must have clinical and patient care experience.
• Must possess excellent spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Works in the department as needed in designated areas.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with physicians and ancillary departments.
• Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of organizational skills.
• Experience working with computers and computer software/applications.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Associates degree or higher degree preferred.
• Previous insurance background preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care hospital preferred.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $21.00 to $28.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
