Bed Control Coordinator I
Responsibilities
- Provides care coordination for patients as they move into and through the care continuum.
- Ensures accurate, timely processing of insurance verifications, patient registration, and timely notification of payors to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Facilitates benefit coverage for continuum of care needs.
- Ensures the flow of information to continuum care providers.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications:
- Must have clinical and patient care experience.
- Must possess excellent spelling and grammar skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Works in the department as needed in designated areas.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with physicians and ancillary departments.
- Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of organizational skills.
- Experience working with computers and computer software/applications.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher degree preferred.
- Previous insurance background preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $21.00 to $28.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
