Bear Adventure Club Program Assistant

About the role

White Bear Lake Area Schools is seeking motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals to work with their school-age children in the Bear Adventure Club program. Our staff create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can learn, explore, build friendships, and have fun before and after school, as well as during school breaks and summer programming.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in games, crafts, outdoor play, and enrichment activities.
• Create positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Help create memorable experiences while ensuring children's safety and well-being.
• Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through play and positive interactions.

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED (if over 18)
• Minimal experience working with school-aged children
• Must be at least 16 years of age

• Positive attitude and a caring heart
• Works well as part of a supportive team
• Dependable, responsible, and eager to make a positive impact

Skills

• Ability to work with children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay

• Hourly rate of pay: $19.39 per hour or current rate for internal candidates
• Contract currently under negotiation

Schedule

• Bear Adventure Club operates at all nine White Bear Lake elementary schools.
• Programs run weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the summer and before and after school during the school year.

Closing Date

Candidates will be reviewed upon submission with selection starting no sooner than five days following the posting. The position will remain open until a suitable candidate has been found.
