About the role
The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Beach and Park Manager - Miami Beach and Rocky Point Beach Summer Seasonal Employment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, schedule, and train Assistant Beach Managers, lifeguards, and cashiers.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the facility.
- Monitor cashiers and verify daily transactions, reports, and deposits.
- Make bank deposits.
- Supervise rentals of watersports equipment.
- Supervise and lead programs.
- Deal with customers as situations arise.
- Safeguard swimmers and non-swimmers using beach and park facilities.
- Enforce swimming and facility rules and regulations for the public.
- Keep facilities clean and free from hazards.
- Alert patrons to changing weather and water conditions.
- Perform routine tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age by May 1, 2026.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays throughout the summer and have days off on weekdays.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Facilities are not located on public transportation lines.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug test.
- Three (3) years of lifeguarding experience preferred.
- Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
Conditions of Employment
- Seasonal Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.
- Seasonal positions are not included in the Employees' Benefits Plan.
- Applicants having the ability to work the entire season, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, will be considered first.

- Vacation Leave - Monthly vacation leave earnings prorated based on the number of hours worked per week. Earnings increase after five, ten and fifteen years of service generally.
- Holidays - Part-time 30 to 39 hour non-merit or non-classified employees will generally be paid for ten holidays per calendar year. Other part-time, non-merit or non-classified employees working 29 hours per week or less will receive two paid holidays per calendar year. These holidays are the Christmas holiday and the Independence Day holiday.
