Bay Colony Deli - Food Service Rep - Part time

Responsibilities

• Provide a well-stocked, well-maintained department while providing superior customer service.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product on a daily basis while maintaining all department and food safety / sanitation standards.
• Provide superior customer service.
• Take orders from customers by telephone or in person.
• Answer customer questions regarding products; assist them with selections.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively.
• Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality.
• Assist in technical areas as needed (e.g., basic set-up and clean-up processes).
• Use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales.
• Clean and sanitize display cases.
• Operate and maintain equipment properly.
• Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards.
• Comply with department / Store operating procedures.
• Record production and shrink to aid in production planning.
• Assist in technical areas as needed (e.g., baking, frying, and decorating).
• Cull bakery products for poor quality, expiration dates.
• Take care of service counter customers.
• Use ordering system applications.
• Use Fresh Production Planner.
• Perform inventory management processes (MSI, PAW) as required.
• If applicable, ensure catering orders are prepared and ready in time for customer pickup.
• Perform all sanitation and maintenance tasks for Deli slicers.
• Serve / package products at customer's request.
• Educate customers on preparation / reheating instructions of prepared foods.
• Prepackage condiments (sauces, dressings) for prepared food items.
• Cut, slice, dice, chop food in preparation for chef.

Qualifications

• Age requirement: 18+.
• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, symbol, scales, label machine) – Required.
• Strong customer service skills – Required.
