About the Role
Repairs and maintains electric, industrial trucks, specializing in the repair of industrial batteries.
Responsibilities
- Reads work order and observes and listens to truck in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
- Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed.
- Writes complete repair description on work order, including the correct model and the serial number of equipment and records hour meter reading.
- Records all pertinent battery information on work order, including specific gravity readings, load test results, etc.
- Turns all paperwork into the shop service coordinator daily, including work orders, time cards, etc.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of Internet software.

Work environment varies from office to job site to industrial locations.
