Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a full system design and its associated documentation (CAD, drawings, ICDs, BOMs, etc.)
  • Provide technical support during flight build, test, and delivery to other areas of the technical execution team
  • Work closely with the program and manufacturing team through build, test, and delivery of flight hardware
  • Support the development of the Automated Test Equipment and transition of the product from development to production release
  • Support the development of the hardware requirements, test plans and procedures in compliance with company and industry standards
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for integration into the vehicle and assist in troubleshooting and vehicle integration

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of direct experience in battery development, 3+ years in space applications desired
  • Direct experience with Battery Design, Test, and Manufacturing
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion batteries and battery test methods
  • Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the development and production phases of the mechanical assembly product lifecycle
  • Highly organized team player with excellent technical communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
  • Travel: About 20% travel is expected between Grandview, MO and the Seattle, WA area

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field preferred
  • Experience in development of spacecraft, satellite systems or high-performance aircraft systems preferred
  • Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle preferred
  • Experience with safety-critical systems development (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.) preferred

Skills

  • Experience with high-voltage (>50V) spacecraft design
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries and battery test methods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
  • Excellent technical communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to travel to and work at remote sites supporting test integration, commissioning, and training

Pay

Base Pay Range For WA applicants is $156,802.00 - $219,522.45
