Battery Field Technician

The Field Technician, Motive Power, is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing motive power equipment. This position conducts basic troubleshooting, field and shop repairs, and responds to customer needs. The role reports to the Regional Service Manager and does not have any direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Work safely, follow all safety regulations, including site-specific safety regulations established by customers.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Coordinate problem resolution with Technical Support, Customer Service, Sales, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
- Travel to other branches or sites, as required, to assist with product installation, removal, or repairs (some overnight travel will be required).
- Comply with company policies and procedures, including warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT, and Hazmat.
- Build strong relationships with customers.
- Take ownership of all company assets, including vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot battery and charger systems.
- Perform repairs at customer locations and Concentric shops.
- Respond to client needs in a timely manner while applying great customer service.
- Complete all service orders, PM worksheets, timecards, expense reports, and any documentation as required, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work independently or with a team in a professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Key Performance Measurements
- A scorecard reflecting performance in areas such as safety, efficiency, work order completion, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.
- Exercises a high degree of time management skill, resulting in greater than 90% time billable to customers.
- Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness & ability to learn new skills and information.
- Other key performance measurements as determined by the direct supervisor.
Requirements
- High School or GED required.
- Certification from a technical school focused on electrical, mechanical repair, or battery maintenance preferred.
- Associate degree from an approved two-year college or university, preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Possess a valid driver’s license; CDL a plus but not required.
- May be required to pass additional requirements under the Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Working knowledge of basic AC and DC electrical/electronic theory.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to organize work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and across remote offices.
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) and listen effectively to customer needs.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments toward the greater good of the organization.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
- Experience in a material handling environment is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime.
- Travel daily; some overnight travel required. Concentric technicians may need to travel out of state to perform work.
DOT Requirements
- Drivers must be at least 18 years old to drive "Intrastate".
- Drivers must be at least 21 years old to drive "Interstate".
- Drivers must have a valid driver’s license at all times.
- Drivers must have a valid DOT medical card or the ability to obtain one per DOT/FMCA guidelines during the hiring process.
- Drivers must continue to maintain their active medical card status throughout their employment.
- Drivers must follow the DOT's Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Drivers must be able to obtain a CDL to drive commercial motor vehicles or combination vehicles weighing more than 26,000 lbs.

Pay
$29 to $36 per hour.
