Batter Operator (Crew C) Grand Forks
About the role
The role is responsible for ensuring that quality specifications are met for all battered products by the efficient operation and utilization of all batter equipment.
Responsibilities
- Cross-trained as a Fryer Op for both Line 1 and Line 4.
- Ensures there is no injury to self or others by following safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) and policies.
- Food Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Attends and participates in all training activities for the position.
- Ensures sanitation of equipment and housekeeping of the entire facility.
- Ensures self-compliance with Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Must be a team player and help to meet operational goals.
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures that personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job functions while representing the Company.
- Performs all such other duties as may be reasonably assigned by Manager.
- Ensures all equipment related to the handling, mixing, application, removal, and recovery of batter is efficiently operated.
- Ensures ingredients and formulations outlined in the product specifications are properly followed to meet operational goals, and customer specifications.
- Collects samples and inspects product for conformance to quality requirements.
- Ensures appropriate information is entered in and extracted from both the Wonderware and MMS systems.
- Ensures necessary level of communication is maintained with team members and support groups regarding conditions.
- Must be able to perform line fryer operator duties.
- Responsible for limited driving in the Batter Room, and the safe and accurate unloading of trucks.
Requirements
- Typical Education: High School Graduate or GED
- Relevant Experience: Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position. Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.
- Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English in a manner to successfully complete job duties.
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds and pull up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to work with hazardous and corrosive chemicals in small areas.
- Must be able to use a computer and successfully navigate through various applications. Must be proficient at computer system data entry.
- Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
- Must be able to identify hazards and report to appropriate personnel.
- Must successfully complete a forklift certification course through the J.R Simplot Company.
- Must have successful fryer operator experience.
