Form Line Operator (Crew C) Grand Forks

About the role

This job will ensure management of Line 3 operations to achieve maximum run time, product quality, and raw product recovery, consistent with safety, quality, and production goals.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train to operate on Line 2.
• Ensure no injury to self or others by following safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) and policies.
• Attend and participate in all training activities for the position; apply acquired skills and knowledge.
• Ensure sanitation of equipment and housekeeping of the entire facility.
• Ensure self-compliance with Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Act as a team player to meet operational goals.
• Maintain professional conduct and personal appearance standards while representing the Company.
• Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by Manager.
• Monitor the weigh belt, blancher, quencher, fryer, and freezer systems in Wonderware.
• Read and understand training materials and other job-related information; complete paperwork in a timely manner.
• Operate the oil system safely and correctly to maintain proper filtration and free fatty acid levels (FFA).
• Prepare additives and monitor their flow into the transfer system.
• Perform required Fry-ups and take Agtron color measurements to make necessary color adjustments.
• Monitor the blancher circulation system and flush/unplug as necessary.
• Check all equipment in the area to ensure full functionality.
• Notify Team Leaders, mechanics, and other shift support personnel regarding changes in Line 3 conditions.
• Utilize unscheduled/scheduled down-times effectively.
• Maintain work area in a sanitary condition to prevent product contamination and ensure efficient operations, including start-up and major sanitation.
• Perform bi-weekly major cleanup.
• Ensure materials are supplied for all equipment on the line.
• Understand production goals.
• Ensure attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position.
• Ensure self-compliance with Company policies and Plant procedures.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Successfully complete the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position.
• Complete the Structured Job Training program within the recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.
• Demonstrate ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculate percentages for proper adjustments and calibrations.
• Read, understand, and communicate in English to successfully complete job duties.
• Lift up to 50 pounds (e.g., bag of salt).
• Demonstrate manual and physical dexterity.
• Work with hazardous and corrosive chemicals in small areas.
• Tell time and convert regular time to military time.
• Use a computer and navigate through various applications; proficient at computer system data entry.
• Maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis.
• Demonstrate basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, range, average, percentages, measurements).
• Acceptable safety record.
