Responsibilities

• Inspect substrate for proper fastening
• Install cement backer board
• Apply mesh tape at seams and corners
• Apply first coat of waterproof membrane (e.g., RedGard or equivalent)
• Reinforce corners with fabric strips
• Apply second coat after cure
• Extend membrane beyond wet area
• Apply membrane at pipe penetrations
• Conduct 24-hour flood test to verify watertight integrity
• Document test results
• Obtain waterproofing inspection before tile installation
