Bath Portal Test - Waterproofing

Responsibilities

• Apply waterproof membrane system to shower walls, floor, curb, and any other wet areas, including RedGard or equivalent liquid membrane application, corner and seam reinforcement, and flood testing to verify watertight integrity before tile installation
• Inspect substrate for proper fastening
• Install cement backer board
• Apply mesh tape at seams and corners
• Apply first coat of waterproof membrane
• Reinforce corners with fabric strips
• Apply second coat after cure
• Extend membrane beyond wet area
• Apply membrane at pipe penetrations
• Conduct 24-hour flood test
• Document test results
• Obtain waterproofing inspection
