About the role

Hempel, a leading supplier of trusted coating solutions, seeks a Batch Making Operator to join its team in Dallas, TX. This position operates manufacturing equipment, blends raw materials, and produces high-performance paints and coatings.

Responsibilities

  • Operate designated equipment in an efficient, clean, and safe manner
  • Follow all quality and work practices, procedures, and SOP's, and instructions listed on batch tickets
  • Keep designated equipment clean and in good working conditions
  • Participate and contribute in all improvement initiatives such as 6S, Safety Excellence, Winning Together, Waste reduction, etc.
  • Report safety and environmental incidents
  • Report any raw material shortages
  • Report any mechanical and electrical problems
  • Report any Quality issues and manufacturing delays
  • Provide batch samples to QC lab when required
  • Minimize risks and waste
  • Attend safety meetings and scheduled training classes
  • Maintain good housekeeping in assigned work areas
  • Enhance troubleshooting capabilities including complex decision making
  • Delegating and assigning tasks

Requirements

  • High School diploma minimum, or equivalent
  • Able to manufacture any products listed on the Hempel assortment with no or minimum supervision
  • Able to provide on-the-job training to new employees
  • Able to perform basic mathematical functions with or without a calculator
  • Must have mechanical aptitude
  • Able to safely operate all gas and electric forklifts
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including different shifts and occasional weekends
  • Able to understand raw material understanding, communication skills, ISO 9001:2000 quality system, and waste solvent labelling system
  • Knowledge of material adds and timing, and knowledge of raw material reactions
  • Vortex knowledge (proper pigment adds) preferred
  • Basic chemistry education

Qualifications

Compensation details are confidential and will be provided upon successful completion of the application process.

Schedule

Nights Mon-Thurs: 8pm-6:30am
