About the role

This two-day workshop is designed for students and early-career professionals aspiring to excel in athletic training, biomechanics, performance science, physical therapy, and sports medicine. It offers a deep dive into injury prevention and the fundamentals of baseball biomechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Attend a Birmingham Barons minor league game
  • Guided visit to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute

Requirements

  • A personal statement (500 words or less) describing their interest, relevant experiences, and how this opportunity will assist their career goals

Qualifications

The program is open to candidates from clinics, colleges and universities, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Benefits

  • $500 stipend for travel and lodging expenses
  • Free access to the PBATS Baseball Team Medicine Course on January 16-17, 2027
