Role And Responsibilities
- Responsible for device testing (end-to-end), program downloading, equipment startup, and operations.
- Supports sub-contractors with day-to-day direction when needed and ensures that the MSS Standard is being met on the job from an install and software standpoint.
- Effectively document work performed by completing necessary paperwork on each job, including entering daily time, detailing the scope of project progression, and maintaining an electronic database.
- Drive to and from customer sites as needed.
- Absorb and assist the senior level controls technicians.
- Inventory parts, material and labor per job.
- Complete all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Observe, report and correct unsafe work environments.
- Will be included in on call rotation as needed according to business volume and requirements.
Qualifications And Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of building automation controls, or similar, experience and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Niagara Tridium N4 certification, or similar, or equivalent experience.
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record to be able to drive a company provided vehicle.
- Successfully pass a background check & drug test.
- Demonstrated experience in startup and commissioning of building automation and controls systems.
- Ability to create / modify / duplicate / troubleshoot existing or new programs.
- Ability to modify complex graphics (Plants) and create basic graphics (VAV, RTU, FCU).
- Ability to integrate points in Lon, BACnet and Modbus at the Jace and server level.
- Ability to install and start up a new Tridium N4 System successfully at the Jace and server level.
- Ability to perform any Software Upgrades or software related requirements (Java, LNS, security protocols).
- Ability to install and service all field level devices including wireless, VFDs, com cards and any other components within the system being installed or serviced.
- High level of service to both Internal/External. Remaining solution oriented and focused on the customer need.
- Ability to abide by basic safe work practices.
Physical Demands
- Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing and climbing.
- Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping.
- Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
- Material Handling: Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
Work Environment
- Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places.
