Cheeky's is a neighborhood seafood restaurant and oyster bar set along St. Petersburg's Grand Central District. A mix between a salty Old Florida fish shack and a classic New England oyster bar, we offer a menu of classic American dishes with something for everyone. Our restaurant is dedicated to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy exceptional food and service.

Behind the bar, we shake up classic drinks and serve frozen cocktails. Our wine list features small production and natural bottles, complemented by light local beers on tap and a deep selection of no- and low-alcohol drinks. We're an easy-going spot with friendly service, perfect for the whole family. Enjoy a seat on our sidewalk patio (dog-friendly!) or in the dining room surrounding our horseshoe bar.

About the Role

Bartenders are a critical part of the restaurant and must possess a sense of urgency, provide friendly service, and maintain great communication skills. We’re looking for proactive team players with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality. Teamwork is essential—everyone is equally responsible for ensuring our guests have an extraordinary experience. The words "no" and "it's not my job" are never used here. Cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant are everyone’s responsibility, and we encourage all team members to speak up if something needs attention.

Responsibilities

• Welcome each guest and be mindful of tone and body language at all times.
• Input drink orders into the POS system immediately after preparation and collect payment.
• Responsibly serve alcohol and monitor guests' state of intoxication.
• Anticipate guests' needs and acknowledge them promptly.
• Complete all assigned side work.
• Communicate with staff and management regarding guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant, including floors, service stations, and restrooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bartending experience.
• Food handler's certification.
• Excellent customer service and people skills.
• Good working knowledge of beverages and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to prioritize duties and manage time effectively.
• Ability to read menus, safety documents, and other materials.
• Experience with POS systems.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping to serve guests and perform side work.
• Regularly lift and carry items up to 25 pounds (e.g., trays with food and beverages).
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently between dining and kitchen areas.
• Manual dexterity for handling glassware, silverware, and operating POS systems.
• Work in a fast-paced, indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to noise and temperature changes.
