The Sports & Social Club is a relaxed sports bar offering classic pub food and tremendous sports viewing in a comfortable tavern setting. Serving lunch, dinner, and a dynamic nightlife, the club also features bowling, live entertainment, and The Eagle—a fully equipped private party room. The restaurant and bar are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including an ultimate sports viewing room with two 100-inch high-definition projectors and digital surround sound.
Responsibilities
- Provide an energetic, outgoing, and fun personality while maintaining professionalism.
- Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of the proper steps of service.
- Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and guests.
- Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to drink recipes.
- Serve wine and bottled or draft beer.
- Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from guests.
- Communicate clearly, patiently, and humorously with co-workers and guests.
- Complete all side work as assigned.
- Be well-versed in products to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items.
- Check guests’ identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption.
- Present and encourage current promotions to guests.
- Accurately record and account for all items ordered and secure payment from guests.
- Accurately account for all sales and receipts and record tips as outlined in company policies.
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of bartending experience at high-volume bars and/or nightclubs.
- Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods, and garnishments.
- Formal bartending training preferred.
- Must meet state legal age requirements.
- Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
Skills
- Communication skills utilized frequently when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
- Reading and writing abilities for taking orders and completing paperwork.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, used often.
Physical Requirements
- Handling, carrying, or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (barware, boxes, bottles, etc.).
- Moving about the bar, lounge, and kitchen efficiently and safely.
- Handling food, objects, products, and utensils effectively and safely.
- Bending, standing, stooping, and kneeling for extended periods.
