Bartender - The Pier

About the role

The Pier is hiring bartenders for the 2026 Summer Season. This is a seasonal, hourly position available in both full-time and part-time capacities. If you love people and enjoy working in a fun, fast-paced environment, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders from patrons and waitstaff.
• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar, requisitioning and stocking all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, and produce.
• Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages as ordered, using the proper methods and tools to ensure consistency.
• Ensures that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the bar’s opening.
• Maintains the bar area, keeping it clean and organized.
• Verifies that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs.
• Collects payment from customers for drinks prepared and served.
• Uses proper judgment to refuse service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
• Notifies the bar manager when liquor, beer, or other bar-related supplies need to be reordered.
• Communicates challenges, guest complaints, or requests to management promptly.
• Works effectively and efficiently with the team, maintaining a positive and professional attitude toward guests, co-workers, and management.
• Assists security with disorderly guests when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including drink preparation and service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on serving customers.
• Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly or argumentative patrons.
• Ability to quickly learn point-of-sale software used in bars and restaurants.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a high-volume bar.
• Current ServSafe Alcohol certification.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods while preparing drinks.
• Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
