About the role

To be an artist of drinks and create lasting connections by serving beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce based on daily projections.
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure product quality.
  • Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders.
  • Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes while practicing portion control.
  • Input orders into the register, create guest checks, and maintain accountability for all beverages served.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar and guest areas throughout the shift.
  • Assist guests seated in the lounge but not at the bar when needed.
  • Handle cash transactions, make change, verify charges, and balance all moneys.
  • Lock up and store beverages, food, and equipment; deposit cash drops and secure the bank.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard products to adhere to health standards.
  • Fulfill special guest requests and other duties as assigned (e.g., assisting security with disorderly guests).
  • Adhere to all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations, including laws regarding serving alcohol to minors or intoxicated guests.

Requirements

  • Evening/night availability.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Basic mathematical skills for operating a cash register, making change, totaling guest checks, and managing portion sizes.
  • Basic English language writing skills for completing requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to handle garnishes, glassware, bottles, ice, and mixing drinks.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders.
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and perform point-of-sale procedures.
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
  • 1-2 years of bartending experience required.
  • Ability to obtain any government-required license or certificate.
  • CPR certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
  • Bartending certificate required.
  • TIPS certification required.
