Bartender, Luana Lounge (Full Time)

About the role

Luana Lounge is an idyllic sunset spot made for intimate celebrations, romantic dates and special gatherings. Fairmont Orchid’s lobby-level lounge features island-inspired, hand-crafted sushi and cocktail service.

Responsibilities

• Provide unique dining experiences to all of our guests through warm, personal & detailed service in a luxury, upscale and fast-paced environment.
• Ensure a positive first impression of the restaurant for our guests through detailed cleanliness, set-up and ambiance control.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all F&B services, contents & preparation methods, outlets and hotel services/features.
• Create new beverage/cocktails to suit guests' needs. Up-sell and promote other food and beverage offers at every available opportunity to maximize sales revenue.
• Mix and create drinks for all servers.
• Ensure guests receive warm welcome, timely service & a fond farewell.
• Try to remember individual patron’s names and their preferences to extend a personalized service.
• Ensure that all food & beverage are served according to service standard.
• Properly identify the age of all patrons.
• Tend to cashier duties for servers for cash payments.
• Clear and tidy up bar counter after the departure of the patrons as quickly as possible.
• Perform opening/closing side duties as assigned and set bar service areas according to standards and procedures.
• Assist other Food & Beverage outlets with their operations during peak times or when required.
• Apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
• Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel.

Requirements

• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language.
• Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage.
• Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Detailed & service oriented with an eye for detail to be self-motivated and energetic.
• Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Food and Beverage (Tuberculosis Clearance).
• Additional certification(s) in Food & Beverage will be an advantage (Blue Liquor Card).
