About the role

Barrett Paving Materials is seeking a highly motivated Loader Operator to join our team in Norwood, NY. This role involves operating heavy construction equipment and contributing to our vertically integrated operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate power construction equipment, including front-end loaders, bulldozers, backhoes, scrapers, motor graders, and shovels.
• Control equipment attachments such as buckets, swing booms, scrapers, and blades.
• Comprehend and follow verbal and written specifications and instructions.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations while working with heavy-duty machinery.
• Repair and replace crusher components, including conveyor belts, guarding, and rollers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Previous experience in equipment operation and/or working in Aggregate or HMA plants is preferred.
• Good mechanical skills for equipment repair and fabrication are desirable.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and hours (typically 60+ hours per week) based on market demands.
• MSHA certification is considered a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Climb onto and down from equipment several times a day.
• Withstand vibration and noise from job site conditions and other equipment.
• Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.

Pay

$21.50 to $23.00 per hour.
