Barrel Bar Technician
About the Role
Operate automated, semi-automated, and mechanical tools & equipment to produce proprietary barrel bars to their intended specification. This is an entry-level position where a proprietary process will be trained into a qualified candidate.
Responsibilities
- Use go/no-go gauges to sort material for straightness
- Utilize hydraulic press to straighten material to intended specification
- Check products utilizing product-specific gauges
- Operate fully automated & semi-automated grinding machines to grind products to intended specification
- Etch product with laser engraver
- Box finished product
- Transact work performed within ERP system utilizing a computer or PC-based tablet
- Perform routine maintenance and good housekeeping on equipment and work area
- Perform duties according to health and safety requirements in accordance with Anderson International policy and procedures
- Conform to all Anderson International plant policies and procedures
- Populate documentation that coincides with job responsibilities such as inspection, maintenance, inventory, health, and safety
- Abide by all training, policies, and procedures set forth by Anderson International
- Collaborate with peers and management to help ensure positive outcomes and maintain a safe and respectful work environment
Scope of Position
Help produce proprietary products (barrel bars) throughout various stages of the production cycle while achieving target production levels, maintaining quality, and working safely and effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- This is an entry-level position; prior manufacturing experience is not required
- Qualified candidates will be required to pass a basic mechanical aptitude test
- Ability to read, write, and articulate information both verbally and in writing
- Perform simple math calculations, including measurements
- Read manufacturing paperwork such as drawings, diagrams, and shop documents
- Record information as necessary on provided forms
- Attention to detail with regards to aesthetics and quality
- Ability to work with automated & semi-automated equipment, manual, and powered hand tools
- Prior experience in a production setting doing highly repetitive work is a benefit but not required
- Prior experience operating mechanical equipment is a benefit but not required
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Enjoy highly repetitive tasks where daily duties and routine rarely change
- Strong ability to work with a team and adapt to adversity
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, one would be required to stand, sit, walk, reach, lift, and interact with equipment, people, and objects. Specific vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate, including weekdays and weekends. Job duties will be performed in a plant setting.
