Barista / Gift Shop Coordinator

Full-time, 8-hour day shifts at Harlingen Medical Center – Harlingen, TX.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff by providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
• Sell gifts, flowers, snacks, and other items, handling cash and electronic payments accurately.
• Prepare coffee, teas, and other beverages; prepare cold and warm sandwiches.
• Restock merchandise, arrange displays, and ensure the shop is clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and pricing new stock.
• Support fundraising efforts by promoting special sales, gift wrapping, and other volunteer-run initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the hospital environment and patient needs.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent (required for all new hires effective 4/1/14).
• Two years in retail or sales preferred.
• Merchandise display experience preferred.
• Experience working with volunteers preferred.
• Cash register, calculator, and computer experience necessary.
• Strong customer service skills required.
