Barista - Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge & Resort - Full Time Year Round

About the role

At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating! We are seeking a Barista who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together and caring deeply about our brand. The ideal Barista will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator. The Barista provides guests with quality food and beverages through proper steps of service and maintains a great work environment for fellow hosts and vendors.

The ideal candidate will display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes customers promptly with a professional and friendly attitude
• Determines the needs of and educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions
• Prepares and sells hot and cold beverages, including coffee and espresso drinks, by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
• Sells a variety of prepared food items; uses proper equipment to heat items when necessary
• Stocks and presents food/beverage items to standard
• Orders/requisitions food and supplies through Lead/Sous chef
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with all local and federal health codes
• Uses POS accurately; handles credit card transactions as directed
• Participates in upsell strategies as directed by management
• Participates in daily line-ups
• Practices service standards and current training throughout service

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Requires thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field
• Minimum formal education of a high school diploma and a minimum of one year of job-related experience
• Must be able to obtain food handler certification
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy; must have a valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance, and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record
• Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of onboarding process, which includes background screening and pre-employment drug screening

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

• Lifting and Carrying: May require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
• Mobility: May require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing, and/or walking for the duration of the shift, up to 13 hours
• Repetitive Movements: May require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms, or other body parts
• Environmental Conditions: Requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat
