Barista/Coffee Shop Assistant
Pay: £8.00 per hour (ages 16–17), £12.71 per hour (ages 18+).
About the role
Your local store is looking for a Barista/Coffee Shop Assistant for a minimum of 12 hours per week. From the first coffee poured to the final smile shared, every moment in Pausa is a chance to brighten someone’s day—and you’ll be right at the centre of it all. Our coffee shops, affectionately titled Pausa, are positively thriving, and it is our Coffee Shop Assistants that are at the very heart of their success. You’ll take pride in every cup you pour, build expert knowledge of our product range, and meaningfully connect with our customers. Whether it’s a regular grabbing their usual or a first-time visitor, you’ll make sure every customer leaves feeling better than when they arrived. It’s a busy, hands-on role that takes energy, focus, and a fair bit of graft.
Responsibilities
- Be customer obsessed—consistently consider the impact of your actions on the customer experience and strive to deliver joyful experiences in the most effective and thoughtful way.
- Serve hot and cold beverages that delight our customers.
- Dish up our delicious savoury and sweet food items, ensuring presentation sparks joy.
- Ensure all cooked food is nice and hot so it can be enjoyed as intended.
- Keep restaurant tables clear and sanitised as promptly as possible to maintain our customers' high expectations.
- Provide an exceptional standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, service area, and restaurant.
- Consistently deliver exceptional customer service to support strong CSAT (Customer Satisfaction) scores, ensuring every customer receives a welcoming, helpful, and memorable experience.
- Work closely with a variety of ingredients, including dairy, nuts, meat products (including pork), while meeting high standards for health and safety and food hygiene.
Requirements
- You are customer obsessed—you put customers first in every interaction.
- Flexible, able to work across weekends and evenings.
- Previous experience working closely with a team; ideally, prior work experience in a similar environment.
- A friendly, hard-working individual who loves to provide a joyful customer dining experience.
- A team player who never fails to contribute and loves the satisfaction of a job well done and a smile on our customers' faces.
