Barista Cafe Attendant

About the role

Barista Café Attendants provide excellent service and expertly crafted products in an energetic store environment. You will have the opportunity to master your food & beverage craft, work alongside friends, and meet new people every day.

Responsibilities

• Maintains work area throughout shift, ensuring cleanliness, sanitization, and proper stock levels.
• Prepares food and beverages to standard recipes or customized orders, following the Starbucks Barista Basics training guide.
• Engages with customers through clear and pleasant communication, understanding and responding to their needs.
• Ensures items are stored according to FDA Food Code, and inspects received products for quality.
• Works across various departments within the store, including Support, Cold Bar, Espresso Bar, Register, Beverage Sequencing, and Customer Support.
• Attends seasonal promotional period trainings as required.

Requirements

• Valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health Department (MCHD) prior to starting or obtain a Temporary FSWP no later than the first Wednesday of employment.
• May not handle exposed food or any food contact surface, equipment, or utensil until obtaining a Temporary FSWP.
• Must obtain a valid MCHD FSWP within one month of start date and maintain throughout employment.
• Complete Starbucks Barista Basics certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Prior barista and/or food service experience in a high-volume setting is preferred.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of FDA Food Code and safe food handling practices.
