About the role
We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Barista Bartender to join our team. This dual-role position requires an individual who can expertly craft high-quality coffee and espresso beverages as well as mix and serve alcoholic cocktails. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, detail-oriented, and reliable professional dedicated to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You will be a crucial part of creating a welcoming atmosphere for all our guests, whether they are stopping in for their morning latte or brunch with a group.
Responsibilities
Barista Duties
- Skillfully prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold coffee and espresso beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, and specialty drinks, adhering to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machine and juicing equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Maintain knowledge of local partners, fresh juice recipes, and available menu items to accurately answer customer questions and make recommendations.
Bartender Duties
- Prepare and serve HomeGrown specialty barista drinks and cocktails, following recipes precisely and practicing responsible alcohol service.
- Prepare fresh juices daily, monitor and replenish bar stock, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glassware.
- Accurately process customer orders and payments using a point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash, and reconcile the till at the end of a shift.
- Adhere strictly to all local and state laws regarding the sale and service of alcohol (e.g., checking IDs, refusing service to intoxicated patrons).
General Duties
- Greet all customers with a warm and friendly demeanor, take accurate orders, and proactively resolve any guest issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, including the bar, coffee station, and service areas, following all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with all team members, assisting with opening and closing procedures and supporting food service operations as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience (typically 1+ years) as a Barista and/or Bartender in a high-volume setting is strongly preferred. Training is available.
- Proficiency in operating commercial espresso equipment and basic coffee preparation techniques.
- General knowledge of classic brunch cocktail recipes.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability to work early morning and afternoon shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Navigate throughout the restaurant and communicate with guests.
- Move and grasp items up to five pounds.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Bend and stoop.
- Adequate vision to discern cleanliness throughout the restaurant and operate a touchscreen.

Pay
In this role you are paid the tip credit minimum wage, plus tips. Actual take-home pay varies based on availability.
