Job Summary
CSCA Café is seeking experienced baristas to join their team. The café aims to provide top-notch service, high-quality products, and a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, following recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
- Prepare and/or package a variety of baked goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar, equipment, restroom, and seating areas.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about the menu and retail products.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Aid in inventory management, including restocking supplies and reporting shortages.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive and efficient work environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a passion for coffee and customer service.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Food Safe Handling Certified - Preferred
Pay and Schedule
- This is an hourly part-time position.
- The pay range is $18 - $22 per hour, commensurate with experience and educational background.
- The work environment will be in a retail/café setting.
- Ability to stand for hours at a time.
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
- Ability to move equipment, ingredients and finished products from location to location as required.
