Bariatric Surgeon

About the role

National Wound Physician Group is seeking a Part-Time Bariatric Surgeon for a mobile practice based in Lexington, KY. This position offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside wound management in the post-acute care setting: Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each assigned facility
• Visit 2-3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20-30 patients per day
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care, in real-time during clinical rounds, using proprietary wound-specific EMR

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in Kentucky
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible Bariatric Surgeon
• Willingness to learn wound management from certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors

Skills

• Ability to work independently in a mobile practice setting
• Comfort with utilizing cutting-edge clinical technologies and wound care modalities
• Proficiency with EMR documentation at point of care

Pay

• W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits

Schedule

• Part-time role: minimum of 3 days per week
• Full-time role: 4 – 5 days per week, Monday – Friday (7am–4pm)
• No call / no weekend clinical responsibilities
• Physicians visit facilities in a 40–60 mile radius of practice location
• Paid training provided during onboarding plus 6-month wound care fellowship
• W2 employment contract (no work visa sponsorship available)
