Barber Instructor

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver instructional lessons that meet curriculum standards in barbering
• Conduct hands-on demonstrations and practical workshops to educate students on cutting, styling, and grooming techniques
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to foster improvement
• Create an engaging and positive classroom atmosphere that promotes student participation and motivation
• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into the curriculum
• Engage in faculty development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the classroom and salon environment

Requirements

• Active Barber Educator License in the State of Illinois
• Previous experience as a barber or relevant professional in the field is required
• Teaching experience or certification in Barbering Education is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for teaching and mentoring students in their career development

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is between $19.00 and $23.00/hr. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
