Bar Porter (Barback) - Casino Bars

This position is responsible for stocking all glassware, condiments, beer, paper products, and other necessary items needed for efficient operation within beverage outlets while delivering excellent guest service. Duties are performed in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and company policies. This role may also assist with similar duties within the Hotel Division and must embody the Company’s brand standard and core values: Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, and Positivity (K.E.E.P.).

Responsibilities

• Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.
• Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to guests.
• Communicate professionally and courteously when interacting with guests and fellow co-workers.
• Deliver and stock all glassware, condiments, beer, ice, paper products, and other necessary items for efficient operation.
• Deliver all product ordered from the warehouse to the appropriate storage rooms.
• Ensure use of correct freight elevators and delivery routes to designated beverage outlets.
• Empty trash and designated glass bins on a regular basis.
• Empty dump sink filters in the service stations.
• Stock and service assigned beverage outlets, maintaining par levels of inventory.
• Adhere to established company and departmental procedures, guidelines, and policies, including product handling and sanitation.
• Conduct bar deep cleaning in accordance with the monthly bar breakdown schedule.
• Set up and break down portable bars for special events in designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of all bars, portable bars, and beverage outlets, including all related bar equipment.
• Organize and maintain all beverage pump room areas and storerooms.
• Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service while staying alert to guest needs.
• Assist with maintaining a neat, clean, and safe working environment.
• Perform turnover/takeover of station according to established procedures.
• Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the manager on duty.
• Comply with all Health Department regulations while performing duties.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and liquor laws.
• Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Good people skills and a well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently, independently, and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
• Minimum age requirement is 21.
• At least 2 years of experience in a bar or similar environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
• Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
• Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
• Frequently stooping and reaching.

Work Environment

• Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment with occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
• Regular exposure to a smoke-filled environment.
• Work with others in close spaces.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
• Walk/stand on tile, mats, carpet, and cement.

Pay

USD $12.00 per hour. This is a tipped position.
