Bar and Nightlife Manager
About the role
Dream Nashville is seeking a highly motivated Bars and Nightlife Manager to lead a team of expertly trained professionals in executing innovative and experiential programming while driving a healthy bottom line. This position plans and manages nightlife venues and related F&B operations to achieve customer satisfaction (guests, employees, corporate, and owners) and quality service while meeting or exceeding financial goals.
The role oversees the hotel’s bar and beverage program, including short- and long-term planning and day-to-day operations of nightlife venues. You will direct and assist in developing competitive promotional plans to increase business levels and sales, analyze financial statements, and modify operations to meet financial targets. A strong presence on the venue floors during peak operational times is required.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain beverage inventory levels and costs, placing orders within cost control procedures.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Manage beverage programming across all nightlife venues.
- Coordinate and align key stakeholders, including bartenders, service staff, marketing, talent, A/V, security, and nightlife operations.
- Monitor month-end reports and provide verbal and written feedback to the Executive Committee and ownership.
- Work closely with the hotel F&B Director to reinforce a customer service mentality.
- Resolve guest requests and concerns immediately and respectfully.
- Interview and hire bar team members to achieve proper staffing levels.
- Ensure operational systems and procedures are effective, efficient, and consistently applied.
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure seamless execution.
- Manage and develop all areas of managerial and professional aspects within the venues.
- Ensure payroll is completed correctly and on-time on a weekly basis.
- Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions.
- Manage standard procedures for cash transactions and maintain responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel policy.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Implement emergency organization procedures and training through security staff to protect guests, staff, and company assets.
- Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management.
- Manage human resources functions, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, conducting performance reviews, and handling disciplinary actions or terminations.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of the nightlife business and Nashville music scene.
- Ability to work late nights and weekends with a flexible schedule to accommodate business levels.
- Minimum of five (5) years of restaurant/bar management experience, including running shifts without supervision.
- Demonstrated experience creating and implementing new concepts in a hotel or hospitality establishment.
- Ability to sustain composure, remain calm, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Energetic, outgoing, and of unimpeachable character.
- Service-oriented with excellent customer service skills and an obsession for detail.
- Team player with the ability to lead and motivate staff, adopting a "lead from the front" mindset.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in inputting data and accessing information on a computer.
- Creative thinker with the ability to implement action plans that grow business.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with hotel management systems (MICROS preferred).
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion.
- Must be able to secure a state-required TABC License.
