Banquet Supervisor

About the role

Westdrift Manhattan Beach Autograph Collection by Marriott Hotel is seeking a Banquet Supervisor to oversee the banquet department in a full-service hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, guide, and direct Banquet employees.
• Assist servers, bussers, and hosts on the floor during all meal periods.
• Ensure department goals are communicated, understood, and met by all employees.
• Provide constructive feedback to employees to improve job performance.
• Supervise daily banquet operations, establishing and maintaining event room policies and procedures.
• Work with management to ensure employees have necessary resources (e.g., supplies, equipment).
• Ensure guest satisfaction in food and beverage, hospitality, and service standards.
• Engage guests at every table with friendly dialogue.
• Provide a safe working environment by complying with safety, exposure, and Health Department requirements.
• Establish and maintain effective communication through logs, emails, meetings, and open dialogue with all departments.
• Supervise and reconcile cash controls for each shift.
• Act as a liaison between management and Banquet employees to facilitate department operations.
• Collaborate with management to recognize and celebrate employee performance contributions (e.g., department recognition programs).
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement ideas for continuous departmental improvement.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous Food and Beverage supervisory experience in a similar environment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends, nights, and some holidays.
• Ability to work well with or without direct supervision.
• Must maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance at all times.
• Flexible, self-motivated, positive, and professional attitude toward guests, co-workers, and management.
