BANQUET SETUP - PART-TIME

About the Role

Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa offers a luxury mountain experience through exceptional lodging and dining, an 18-hole championship golf course, equestrian stables, a full-service spa, and activities for all ages. This part-time Banquet Setup position is responsible for providing clean and properly set function rooms under the direct supervision of the Banquets Captain and Banquets Manager.

Responsibilities

• Understand BEO (Banquet Event Order) and how to complete a set-up
• Keep the function rooms, conference areas, and storage areas clean and neat at all times
• Return all equipment not in use to its proper storage area in a clean condition before the end of each shift
• Service/freshen all meeting rooms during breaks; check temperature and ensure all lights are working and adjusted properly
• Assist Banquet staff, when necessary, which may include food running, bussing, and buffet break down
• Help perform inventories of Banquet equipment and supplies
• Eliminate safety hazards
• Follow Engineering’s Work Order Program in reporting broken or damaged equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide
• Ability to perform operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance
