Banquet Server - On Call

About the Role

Event servers are responsible for making the function space visually appealing and presenting the menu offering for the event. This includes linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment.

This is an on-call position.

Responsibilities

• Set up and arrange function spaces, including linens, table settings, and food stations
• Present and explain menu offerings to guests
• Provide beverage service during events
• Perform general banquet preparation and room refreshes
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment

Requirements

• Two years of previous food and beverage serving experience
• Open availability on Friday and Saturday evenings
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
• Working knowledge of appropriate table settings, service-ware, and menu items
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items

Work Environment

• Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50lbs through a crowded room continuously throughout the shift
• Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform essential functions for extended periods of time
