Banquet Server - On Call

About the role
As a Banquet Server, you will orchestrate unforgettable dining experiences, delivering seamless events where every guest is treated to exceptional hospitality. This role is part of a dedicated ensemble of service professionals committed to creating a symphony of flavors and service.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.
- Anticipate guests' service needs by asking questions, observing preferences, and acting on them whenever possible.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.
- Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests, using brand-specific processes to resolve issues and build trust.
- Engage guests in conversation about their stay, property services, and local attractions.
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Present physical and accurate checks, process payments, and adhere to all cash handling and credit policies, including gratuity.
- Answer questions on menu selections and clarify with kitchen staff as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day using clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Communicate meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Set tables according to event type and service standards, ensuring all supplies meet quality standards.
- Follow procedures for serving alcohol and record transactions in the system at the time of order.
- Adhere to company and department safety, security, and cleanliness policies.
- Complete closing duties, including storing reusable goods, breaking down equipment, cleaning areas, returning equipment, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing the daily cleaning checklist.
Requirements
- Ability to adhere to timelines for set-ups.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- At least 1 year of server experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on department needs.
- Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as a food handler’s certificate or alcohol training certifications.
Pay
The starting pay rate for this position is $27 - $28 per hour. Individual pay will be based on experience and education.
