Responsibilities
- Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Ability to read and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Performs all guest contact activities such as serving food and beverage, responding to guest’s inquiries in cordial, efficient and professional manner.
- Ensures food and beverage is served while maintaining a consistent presentation and proper temperature.
- Delivers food and beverage items to guests.
- Offers product knowledge of food and beverage to guests.
- Provides general hotel information for guests.
- Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Hotel Polaris.
- Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all amenities as well as any special events.
- Interacts with hotel staff in a professional manner.
- Maintains a professional demeanor and attitude.
- Communicates all pertinent information to the banquets team.
- Maintains constant awareness of safety issues. Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
- Follows Banquet Event Orders with strong attention to detail.
- Solves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness.
- Ensures proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silver.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff when food ordering expressing any special needs.
Qualifications
- Prior hospitality experience preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess valid Food Handler’s card upon hire.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently.
