Banquet Server

About the Role

Serve meals to patrons for banquet and catering functions at Sonesta International Hotels, the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S. Our diverse portfolio spans full-service and focused hotels in major cities, delivering service with passion and experiences that connect.

Responsibilities

• Prepare function rooms for banquet events, including setting tables and place settings.
• Serve drinks to guests and garnish/decorate dishes prior to serving.
• Observe diners to respond to additional requests and determine when meals are completed.
• Suggest desserts, beverages, and after-dinner drinks.
• Perform food service tasks such as ladling soup, tossing salads, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee.
• Clear and reset tables at the conclusion of each course.
• Adhere to Sonesta Service Standards, Safety, and Sanitation Standards.
• Deliver passionate and engaging service, anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations through the GUEST model:
  • Greet or welcome everyone warmly with a smile.
  • Use eye and ear contact and the guest’s name.
  • Establish and anticipate needs.
  • Solve and own all requests or complaints.
  • Thank everyone.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Anticipated base pay range: $9.39 to $11.39 per hour. Offer may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
