Responsibilities

• Consistently provide professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly service
• Promote and follow LJBTC, Inc.'s Signature Service standards and requirements to ensure a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in satisfied and loyal members and guests
• May set up or help set up for banquet events depending on the group size to be served
• At the end of an event may help to break down set up and restock items in storage as directed
• Serves meals to patrons from chaffing dish at buffet
• Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed
• Clears and breaks down banquet area as required
• Responsible for performing any closing procedures as directed by Captain
• Attends monthly department meetings and training sessions
• Must be available weekends and holidays
• Must obtain and maintain a San Diego County Food Handlers card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Must have the ability to communicate fluently in English
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages
• Ability to apply concepts of basic math
• Must have and maintain a current Food Handlers Card and RBS Certification

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand for an extended length of time
• Walk
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally climb or balance
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Taste or smell
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds including carrying heavy food trays
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Constantly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Working Conditions

• Frequent interaction with guests, customers, and members
• Regular interaction with banquet and kitchen staff
• Interaction with restaurant staff and various other departments
• Rotated shifts to be fair to everyone
• Shifts may be adjusted based on business or task assignments

Scheduling

• This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day
• Shifts will generally be rotated, as much as possible to be fair to everyone
• It may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand
• In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work
