This position is located at the Grand Bohemian Lodge Asheville, an AAA Four Diamond Autograph Collection property in the heart of Historic Biltmore Village. The lodge features a Tudoresque exterior, an individualistic interior, and amenities such as The Spa at Grand Bohemian, Red Stag Grill, the Black Forest Wine Room, and an inspiring art gallery.

Responsibilities

• Perform preparatory tasks and side work to ensure prompt and efficient guest service.
• Read and understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and assigned function menus.
• Serve guests according to hotel standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents; escalate to management as needed.
• Set tables according to hotel standards.
• Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat, orderly, and well-stocked condition.
• Clean banquet spaces after functions and ensure equipment and supplies are stored properly.
• Prepare rooms according to BEO and meal function requirements.
• Follow all money-handling procedures when serving guests.
• Know menu items for each function and provide accurate descriptions to guests.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Flexible availability, including long hours as required.
• Ability to perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand for entire shifts.
• Strong listening skills to understand and clarify guest or employee concerns.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Attentive, friendly, and service-oriented approach to all guest and employee interactions.
• Effective problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, and resolving issues.
• Ability to show initiative and anticipate guest or operational needs.
